Playgrounds and More Twins

The big highlight of our days right now is deciding which playground to go to if the weather is nice out. We are fotunate enough to have 2 playgrounds in our subdivision that are nice enough for the kids to play in(after a visit to city hall by Rob to complain). Also the kids are getting big enough that they can climb by themselves.
Elsie is still a little cautious and crawls on her hands and knees sometimes.
This past Thursday we were able to visit with another set of twins that I met online. Shannon and Dana and Brynn. They are 17 months old right now, so just a little bit younger. They live in SanDiego, but they came home to MI for a wedding. This is a picture of most of the kids looking in the window at a cat.

Of course we didn't get any family pics, and not any good ones of daddy,so here he is with Uncle Randy. I think they were trying to make Reid laugh or something. This is the only picture I have of myself. We were sitting in the garden with GG after the ceremony.

Last week we went on our first big family trip. We headed to the Atlanta area for Uncle Rick and Aunt Michelle's wedding. We had a great time. The kids were troopers and made it through until 10PM. The were getting a bit crabby until the music started and then found a 2nd wind. We survived 4 nights sleeping in a hotel but still aren't back to sleeping well at home here. I think they got used to sleeping with mommy and daddy in the big beds.

Reid went and sat with Grandma during the ceremony and I only got to stay until Michelle and her dad walked down the aisle. Then Miss Elsie and I had to go for a little walk. I usually have a ton of cool pics from weddings. This is my first wedding with kids, so unfortunately, not too many pics.

The whole wedding was held at Kimball Hall in Roswell GA.

Ruby Falls/Georgia Aquarium

Last Wednesday morning we started out on our trip to Atlanta for Rob's brothers wedding. Overall the trip went really well. The kids did extremely well in the car. We made it to Chattanooga TN on the first day. We had to find a mall on the way down to let the kids get out of the car and run around in the play area because it rained the whole way down there. We were hoping for nice weather the next day so we could go to the Chattanooga Zoo, but unfortunately it was raining again when we woke up. So we chose to go to Ruby Falls. The worlds tallest underground waterfall. We weren't sure about taking 2-20 month old kids there, but we asked when we arrived and the lady said it wouldn't be a problem. Well little did we know that we would have to carry(yes you read right)carry the kids the entire time. We took an elevator down into the cave and then had to walk with the kids to the falls.(about a 1/2 mile) It just wasn't safe enough to let the kids down to walk. They did ok with the whole thing because there was enough to look at. Once we got to the Falls it really was pretty. The picture doesn't do it justice. I couldn't take too many pictures because I was carrying a squirmy kid.
We met up with Rob's family who were on their way down from Indiana and made our way to Marietta, GA. We had lunch together and then went to see Rick and Michelle's new house. On Friday we(Grandma, Great Grandma, Uncle Randy, Rob and I and kids)went to the Georgia Aquarium. The kids tried to have a good time but were pretty crabby when we were there. The seals were probably their favorite thing. They sat at the window for a while and watched them swim back and forth in front of the window.

Bleeding Heart/Eating Dirt

So I went to the computer today to upload pics to post a blog and realized that I had only taken 5 pics this week. So this is a pic of the bleeding heart that is in my backyard. I so don't have a green thumb. Everything that is there came with the house. It is all green except for this one little plant that has one strand of flowers. It is just so pretty.
And then there is Reid. He decided one day that he would try to eat the dirt. He looks like such a little devil with a whole face full of dirt.
We are going to Rick and Michelle's wedding this week, so we will have a lot of good pics for next week. I hope everyone had a good Mothers Day.

Another Busy Week

My Goddaughter Allyson had her first communion. She looked so pretty and so grown up. The kids did great and had a good time after the church service. Thank you to our friend Anna for lending us a cute dress.
We went out and spent the day at my friend Phia's place. She has a sand box that we tried out for the first time. We will not be getting a sand box anytime soon. Way too dirty for me. This is the kids playing in the box with Matthew.
And then we went to the Detroit Zoo this week with my friend Marcia and her daughter Meg. We had a fun time there as well. Its so much bigger than Toledo, but the kids hung out and had a great time.

The new polar bear exhibit was really cool. The kids loved watching the seals swim right over top of them.

This was the kids first train ride. They weren't too sure of it at the start, but soon we had them laughing. We had to say "choo, choo"about a hundred times.

First Haircuts

Reid went back in November for his first cut. He went with his Daddy to the barber shop.

Elsie just had her first cut last week, the first week of May. She just needed a little trim.
