Ball Pit, Naughty Kids and Snow

Ok, I had to add these pics of the kids. They still have so much fun in their ball pit. Some days I think that I'll put it away, and then they start playing in it all over again.

This picture is of my 2 naughty kids sitting up on the fireplace. The fence is there to keep them out obviously, but yesterday they figured out a way to get up there. Sitting there all innocently, reading books, playing with puzzles and looking at the video's I had up there. I think the fence may be coming down shortly. I can see injuries in the future trying to get over it.
And last but not least, the "lovely" (can you hear the sarcasm??) snow that we woke up to this am. Do you think that this is the last snow fall??? I keep saying that everytime it snows.

Easter

We did our first Easter Egg Hunt this year. The Easter Bunny hid a few plastic eggs for us to find. It was fun. Reid found the 1st one.
Elsie was soon to follow, not to be outdone by her brother.
It didn't take long for them to figure out that there was something in them. Here they are sitting down enjoying their treats. Teddy grahams, goldfish crackers and animal crackers.
I didn't get any pics of the baskets that they got. Just a few little things from Target. Elsie got a few dress up things, a little skirt, and a tiara and a boa and a purse. Reid got sidewalk chalk and stacking blocks. They both got a little book.
Easter was a pretty mellow day. We went out for breakfast, went the grocery store to get supplies for the week. Mommy made pulled pork sanwiches and french fries for dinner and homemade banana bread for dessert.

Sleeping

So there is nothing cuter in this world than a sleeping baby. There is something so peaceful about it. You go in to peek on them and you just can't believe the positions that they get themselves into. Thats Reid in the top picture. He wanted to be a belly sleeper from day one. If he was really fussing, Rob and I would turn him over on his belly to sleep and then he was a happy boy.(don't tell my pediatrician I did this)And I love that they have to get their knees up underneath them.
And then there is Elsie. Thats her in the bottom picture from today. Not that you can tell. Apparently she was reading when she fell asleep. The best part was she was snoring away as well. She has to have that blanket that she has over her head with her. That is what she has become attached to. Thankfully my friend Phia's mom made them crib sheets and little blankets when they were born, so I still have quite a bit of material. (or rather my mom does)

Playing Together

So today mommy actually caught us playing nicely together. Usually something like this ends in tears and someone on the floor screaming. They actually rode around for about 15 min like this.
Elsie making her funny face with her top lip hiding her teeth.
This almost looks posed, if only Elsie was smiling a little more.

Nana Visits

Nana came to visit this week. Mommy had a Dr apt to go to, so we waited in the car. We were getting a little stir crazy and had finished all of the string cheese and goldfish crackers, so Nana let us play in the trunk. We would have gone for a little walk, but it is still too cold out.
After that, mommy took us to Jungle Java. A place for us to play and mommy to get a coffee and relax. We think that everyone in the area thought the same thing because it was really busy. We still had fun. We played on the little slide and equipment in the toddler area. Maybe next time it won't be so busy and we can go on the big slide.
Elsie, just watching the people on the other side wondering how she can get there herself.
Reid waiting at the bottom of the slide for Elsie.

Our friends Anna and Max and their mom Dawn. They were having something to eat before playing.
Mommy worked a lot this week. Nana was here from Monday until Friday. I'm sure she slept for a whole day when she went home. Since she left we developed colds, so we stayed in this weekend. Its too hard for mommy and daddy to run around after us and wipe our noses. Reid did get his hair cut and looks really cute. We haven't got any good pics yet, but when we do we will post them.

We are 18 Months Old

One of our favorite activities these days. Mommy just has to put the puzzles away when we are done because we like to eat the pieces.
We don't know why mommy is always trying to get us both to sit still for a picture. Is she crazy?
Ok, so we're both in the chair, do we have to smile now?
Elsie coming in to see the picture that I am taking.
Reid, a little out of focus, but its a cute pic.
They're both looking a little scrappy and need haircuts I think.
Ok, so we went for the 18 month apt today. No big problems. Dr Zara seems happy with them. They both got taller, but didn't gain much weight this time. Obviously from all the running around. We told him that Reid pretty much just has one speed, and that is fast. I keep saying I can't wait for it to be nice outside so I can take the kids out. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up with Reid. Thank god Elsie pretty much likes to stay by my side. She's not nearly as fast as he is.
Reid's stats 23lb 12oz and 32 1/2" (25th and 50th percentile)
Elsie's stats 26lb 4oz and 32 3/4" (both 75th percentile)
They had one shot today. Elsie needs her ears rechecked in a month. She is on antibiotics for a sinus and ear infection and he couldn't see her ears for wax. Then he tried to do a tympanogram, and she didn't get good readings off that either. So he thinks there is just still fluid in her ears and hopefully in a month it will have cleared up.
So all is well and we go and get our Tim Hortons and head home and when I am getting Elsie out of the car, she smiles and I notice that the space between her bottom teeth looks bigger. Well as I check it out, she is missing a bottom middle tooth. Gone, no blood, no tooth, doesn't even look like there is a hole there. So I called the Dr back, and he said that I shouldn't worry about it, that it happens sometimes. Her other front one feels loose as well, but the others feel pretty solid. Its probably from all that grinding she does. She drives me crazy some days grinding.

Twin Friends

I was very fortunate to meet another twin mom online. Dawn also had boy/girl twins, Max and Anna, who are about 5 weeks younger than Reid and Elsie. We had our initial meeting at a restaurant to confirm that neither of us was a crazed lunatic. After that we have been meeting up almost weekly to let the kids play together. Sometimes at our house, sometimes theirs or maybe the zoo or childrens museum. The kids really have a ton of fun together and now I have made a new friend as well in Dawn. We even got our husbands out with all of us a couple of weeks ago.
These pics are almost a year apart. Wow how things have changed.
